Witches Dance

In October 2023, we started writing the new album Witches Dance, which is structured as a narrative. The main story centers on a witch who suffers through a journey, torn from her Hiding Place, betrayed (in The Betrayal), and ultimately coming to understand society's prejudice (Forsaken). Heresy presents the clergy's perspective: a hymn against all heretics, condemned in Inquisition, whose theme is adapted from Franz Liszt’s Spanish Rhapsody. The Cleansing brings the journey to a close—with the witch’s burning, while L'Inferno, a piano solo, depicts her path through the abyss—a symbol that she’s in a better place now.

On another level, the album’s meaning translates to modern times (particularly in the songs Lighthearted, about self-acceptance, and Psychosis). The character of the witch can represent any minority or person marginalized and oppressed by society (the "clergy") for being different. Musically, most of the songs are structured as a dialogue between the afflicted individual (clean vocals) and society/the clergy (growling/screaming).

The album was independently released digitally across all platforms on September 27, 2024. Its live debut took place at Rock im Sägewerk ’24, the fourth edition of our own concert series dedicated to supporting the charity Herzkinder Österreich.
