Our Story
The Journey Begins
Our journey started back in 2019, founded by drummer Marcus ("Mexx") Kürzl and original guitarist Thomas Reinisch. The initial vision quickly grew, first with the addition of soprano Patricia Gschier, followed by guitarist René Stöcklmair and bassist Elisabeth Siebenhofer in 2020. Though founding member Thomas Reinisch stepped back from performing, his technical expertise remained invaluable as he continued to support the band as our dedicated studio and live sound engineer. The line-up was further strengthened by the arrival of Felix Gschier on bass, which allowed Elisabeth Siebenhofer to move to rhythm guitar, solidifying our early sound.
Navigating the challenges of a global pandemic, we poured our energy into creating our debut album. In November 2021, we proudly released Killing Dreams, marking our official entry into the metal scene. The album was our foundation, a crucial first step that was recorded at Redhead Studios and paved the way for the creative path we were destined to follow.
Evolution and a New Voice
Every band's story has its turning points. For us, early 2023 marked the beginning of a new chapter. Following the departure of the Gschier siblings and Elisabeth Siebenhofer, the band embraced a period of creative realignment. This evolution brought incredible new talent into the Adiant family: Walter Mlekuz on bass and Wolfgang Derler on guitar.
The most defining shift came with the arrival of our lead vocalist, Eva Weixler. Her powerful alto voice reshaped our sound and brought a completely new dimension to our music. The final piece of the puzzle fell into place with Emil Berger joining on keyboards, who also took on the growling and screaming vocals that are now integral to our sound. This new, energised line-up made its powerful debut at the Rock im Sägewerk festival in 2023, performing new arrangements of our earlier work that were specially adapted for Eva’s dynamic vocal style.
A New Era: Witches Dance
With a solidified line-up and a unified creative vision, we began work on our second studio album,
Witches Dance, in late 2023. This is more than just an album; it is a narrative concept piece that explores the dark history of the early modern witch hunts. As with our first record, it was produced by the talented Thomas Reinisch at Redhead Studios.
Released on 27 September 2024, the album uses the story of a witch's persecution as a metaphor for the oppression that marginalised groups in society face today. The songs create a dialogue between the individual, represented by clean vocals, and society, embodied by growling and screaming. From the narrative of betrayal and judgment to the final, liberating journey of the spirit in the piano solo "L'Inferno,"
Witches Dance is our definitive statement on injustice, self-acceptance, and resilience.
